Dave is a weekend warrior who somehow got talked into entering a Gran Fondo. A spreadsheet enthusiast by trade and a reluctant hill climber by necessity, he's approaching the challenge with a mix of enthusiasm, terror, and a training plan that mostly involves hoping for the best. Based on the Isle of Man, he's documenting his journey from flat-tyre garage bike to (fingers crossed) the finish line alongside his mate Aubrey.
